Turns out the boat I thought had no foam in the hull, has tons of it. I'm going to have to pull it all. Pretty sure the only way to get to it is to split the hull. Any tricks to getting the splash well off? Any secrets that will help speed it up. Actually, any info would be great.

A pressure washer will cut right through the stuff. Have a helper keep the drain plug hole clear...

Thanks. That's a good idea. Looks like someone has had it off before. I have all the screws out and it seems to be just sitting there now. I'm gonna unhook the hoses and such tomorrow.407100

Just in case anyone is keeping up with this. You can't split the hull on a 93 astro bass boat. The foam is spread between the deck and hull with no plastic barrier. So the boat is effectively glued together with a great amount of surface area. You can still get the foam our though.407461

How did it work out for you? I m thinking of buying a 93 astro 20fsx and was curious if there were any transom issues. Thinking of hanging my 250 pro xs off of it.
thanks,
Bryan.

Its built like a tank. I've had no issues with the transom on mine.
