1985 22 Velocity Merc 300XS

Selling an 85' Velocity built by Steve Stepp. Boat is in very clean shape and has had a lot done to it over the years. Has a new transom, knee braces and an aluminum bridge between the knees that tie rods bolt to which go through the splashwell and bolt to angle aluminum on the transom. This boat is solid and built strong. Boat has Latham side arm steering, bobs extreme jack, fairly new interior, comes with very nice cockpit cover and custom full cover. Engine is a 2011 Mercury 300XS that was bought new. Has an offshore mid and 1.62 sporty. 77 hours on it.

Nice! what prop are you running?? I too have a 22 Velocity with an XS and have been playing with props to dial in my boat but I have a 10" bobs HD jackplate on mine so i have a quite bit more setback than your setup and a much heavier interior with all the speakers and so forth. GLWS!

Ben, I notice this 85 velocity runs at around 85mph that was the top speed that I got out of my 1985. Having read previous posts I notice your velocity runs in the 90,s Is it mainly less weight that is making the difference? thanks, Frank

My boat is definitely a little bit of a lighter lay up but is a ply wood core, the bottom is blue printed, I have a little more setback and don't forget the X is also faster

Edited post. Engine turns out to be a 2011 that was bought new and rigged in 2015. Selling this boat for a friend so didn't have the correct info on the engine was going off of when I knew the engine was purchased. Has very low hours and is in mint condition, has been run in fresh or brackish water since new except for the last run we had it on in long island but we cleaned it up and flushed it out immediately.
