In the not too distant future I'll be getting into an M2 (aka SLE) ETEC V6 gearcase. I've worked on regular V6 gearcases before and have a variety of OMC tools for them. However, the M2 having a pressed-in propshaft bearing carrier requires a whole bunch of additional tools per the service manual. I'll drop the dough if I really have to, but just looking for some advice on what you definitely need to have, as opposed to "nice to have".

In particular:
- P/N 354060 - Bearing carrier puller kit. I have the old-school pre-ETEC one with the long beefy hooks. Will that work if I gently heat the gearcase ?
- P/N 354059 - Pressing fixture. Has anybody built their own ? It's just a jig to hold the case in a hydraulic press.
- Any other hints ?

Any MasterTech insights appreciated :D

Matt, I used the puller you mentioned and applied a small amount of heat. If you get a salted one you will need the factory puller. Made my own fixture.

Thank you gentleman, just what I needed
Frank, I had forgotten that you'd cracked it open. Still working on a 20" upper driveshaft, I'll call you.
