18'baker mod vp. Need help. 27 srx for prop! Jeff, DAH let me borrow his life jacket, have a hemet:) Is not the fastest boat in the world but could I at least get, a 100 out of it?235 omc for power+ Thanks Scott

what I think you are asking... Can you get that rig to 100mph?
It will be some work. If you have a 1.86 or 1.87 gear in the lower unit (I think you do but you should check) you will have to turn around 8200 with a good 27 pitch wheel to hit 100. That is figuring in 10% slip. I have never heard of a cross flow turning that kind of RPM but I am not very well versed in cross-flow tech.

Maybe someone else can offer some more insight,

I'm with you Russ. I've seen some 235 crossflows that would run 100+, but they were fixed by some folks that new a lot about OMC tweekin'. It ain't gonna happen with just setup work and a stock motor on that boat. Remember, the old 235 crossflows were crankshaft HP rated, making them down on power compared to engines of today with similar ratings.

Hey Ripper, have you ever scaled that boat? I think it is potato chip thin and high 90's should be possible with a tweaked slOMC.
that's a good raceboat, you don't see anything like it these days. I think the production boats were heavier.
