i have a 1997 blazer bass boat 19 ft with a merc 225. heres my question im running a 4 blade prop with a 12 inch jack plate, welll here we go when i go to plane off its slugish but when it kicks in its fine. ive had it with two tecs that tell me that its running fine also it wont push the boat on the trailer . i was told to go to a smaller pitch prop and that may help with getting out of the hole and loading it on the trailer , so my question is is this correct or should i try someone else.
thanks

Does the prop have any ventilation holes in it (on the hub nearest the gearcase)? What is the rpm at wot?

Yea, I think your prop is too tall. Especially if that is the speed not loaded with all that fishing stuff...:)

What kind of 225 merc?
Agree with Fl that 5300 seems low.
Do you have a max GPS speed?

A 225 Promax should run 6200-6500rpm.
Is your tach on the right setting? 5300 is way low for a promax.
What prop are you running?
A promax already has EFI???

You need a smaller wheel. The motor should be able to turn more than that.
