HEY WAYNE , WHERE YOU GET THAT TRIM INDICATOR & HOW MUCH DID IT COST ?? DOES IT WORK WELL ? I KNOW IT'S BEST TO GO BY THE SEAT OF YOUR PANTS BUT I STILL FIND MYSELF LOOKING BACK OVER MY SHOULDER. IT'S APAIN IN THE BUTT.....RICK MOORE
That's a Stainless Marine unit for 20-inch Mid. They make a 15-inch unit as well. They work extremely well. I paid $175.00 for the Actuator, Cable, and Indicator. Quality stuff. Get one...................:D
Take care, Rick

Wayne, can you leave it hooked up when you tilt the engine?
It really looks like a good unit. Would you mind posting a photo of the dash unit?
Thanks, Robert
Yes, it can stay hooked-up all the time. You can trim all the way up and when you bring the engine back down it will reengage with the actuator.
The indicator is to the right of the Steering wheel in the picture.
closer view.....................
Sorry. I ain't familiar with that Trim actuator/indicator you got from Rex Marine. Someone here may have some info, hang on.

I just ordered that very same one.
Something to note about the stainless marine is that they are pull pull instead of push pull which results in very accurate - no slack reading.
From the Stainless Marine website:
All No-slack indicators utilize a triple-wound constant-force stainless steel spring to keep the inner cable under 4.3 pounds of tension. This results in a pull-pull operation instead of the push-pull found in every other indicator. Push-pull control cables have, by design, about 1/4" of slack built in which causes a major inconsistency in the readout. No-slack indicators have an inherent accuracy of a few thousandths of an inch.

Wayne is it hard to install the trim indicater.
Thanks Don
Installation is not hard. Instructions are supplied. I more than anyone else, hate cutting holes in perfectly good dashes. :D If you have the right tools its easy. I used two drill bits to start the holes, a Scratch Awl to mark the lines, then used a Roto-Zip tool to cut the slot. I smoothed the slot opening with a small sanding hub on a Dremel Tool. There are other tools that could be used, but these tools were fast, accurate, and neat.

I asked this once before and don't think anyone knew.
What do the numbers indicate?
Has anyone checked the "accuracy"?
