This was probably about 1976 or 1977. Back then there weren't that many small boats around that'd run an honest 100+ MPH. This was my 15 Allison with the T3. The local newspaper had a junior reporter do a series on doing dangerous stuff and living to tell about it. He had also driven somebody's dirt track car and I THINK jumped out of an airplane as well as other things for the stories. That was him sitting on the gas tank wearing my Gentex life jacket. After a pass or two, I let him drive it solo, and only he only got into the 60's before the gyration slowed him down, he said it was the most fun of any of his other stunts.

Back then 100 MPH on the water was almost unheard of - LOTS of claims, but few who could do it, hell 80 on the water back then was fast.
