I have a 2005 280 w/260 electrics. Replaced trigger, stator and switch boxes with CDI. I replaced the air temp sensor and have a Brucato ACU. It has a new fuel pump and 56lb regulator. The low end has no power. The engine boggs down and the rpm's fluctuate up and down fluctuating 2K and won't plane out. It runs great on mid and WOT. When slow down to about 2K RPM then accelerate in falls flat and revs up and down where I can't get on plane.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

I had the Merc computer and switched to the Brucato ACU. Still has same issue. I also replaced vacuum hoses. Could this be a weak coil?

Try another set of injectors if you have access. If not I'd send those to Trae Appling to be checked out

I had Brucato flow these before last season and it didn't help. I have no issue having them checked again. How do I contact Trae?

Thanks

I know you said you replaced the stator, but it suuure sounds like typical, low side of the stator symptoms

I put a CDI stator on it and still does the same thing. That was the second part replaced. I may install another to verify. Thanks!

Sounds like Stator.

Any difference in the CDI high performance stator vs the standard stator for the same engine? I put the standard on

I've run into issues with cdi stuff bleeding voltage through the terminal ends to the switch box housings. DVA the red wires from the stator and make sure the wires aren't pinched between the boxes.

Are you saying they might need to be better insulated from the switchbox case?

no, just be sure they aren't pinched/grounded between the boxes.
i have disconnected the stator wires if i thought the box might be bad.

Which reed works best in a 2004 280 w/260 electrics?

Sent two sets of injectors to Trae. He's been a great help and has given me suggestions on my issue. Great referral by {patchesII and 1BadAction} Good connections are hard to find...Thanks!!
