you need a a ball hone ( just to round up the ports), 4 stone keyway hone, and a finishing/plateau brush used in that order

measure for size and check if out of round
220 to round the ports so go both ways
320 with keyway hone
plateau brush
dont use synthetic for a tank full or so.

Merc used them on the il6 production line.
Can you post a photo of a dingle berry in full bloom?

I use these on servicable bores with ATF. 12-15 strokes on each hole only. Not a big fan of dingle ball hones.

That plateau brush looks interesting, never used one before. Do they last very long before they loose shape?

They work great and give a nice finish to you port chamfers.. I use it before the initial hone on a bore/port job to really get the chamfers looking nice and then after final hone for the plateau finish.. great tool, personally never have used a miniball/dingleberry in a 2 stroke some people love em..Dave

Very familiar with dingle berry hones, it's what I have used in years past.
Not having a plateau in hand to compare...why is the plateau better? Or is it just a preference thing?

plateau does what is says to smooth the bore from any high parts that the other tools cannot do
