Hi, I have an 87 starflite. I need to completely reconstruct the back bench seat. If any Starflite owner can help with the measurements for the backrest and bench seat I would appreciate it. Thanks, Jim

I might be diggin' around in my rig next week. I'll try to get you some #'s. Best bet for you is to remove your back seat(what's left of it), gently pop all the staples and remove the skins. Take apart the sections of the seat. At that point, there should be enough of the wood left for you to trace out on some good marine grade plywood, cut out the pieces, paint the raw edges with some resin, and screw it back together. I did this on my 24' Baja years ago. It was easy and fit perfect. Keep us posted, everybody loves a project! Email me direct if you need more help. d.strippoli@erols.com

I just had the rear seat redone in my old starflite. The wood was real easy to cut out, nothing to comlicated. I will pull it out in the morning and measure the pieces before I finish installing the seat. Do you need all the pieces including the side bolsters? Or just the seat bottom and seat back.

The seat back and seat bottom are real simple straight with no curves, the front piece that sits below the seat in front of the gas tank should not be to bad I'll get the overall dimensions and you will have to trim both the lower outside corners because they follow the curve of the floor. The bolsters the same. I'll get you as much detail as I can with pics. :)

Is all I should need when I got my starflite last year it was a stripped hull theft recovery . Wound up cutting floor ope to get at wet foam also to glass both sides of the stringers as the factory only glasses them on the ski well side also I think my transom knees are a little different there glassed to the sides of the stringers not on top of the floor like bmac described . As far as the wet foam goes check in the bow down low against the bow bulkhead the rest you can't get to without cutting holes in the floor always check at the bottom of the foam gravity seems to keep it at the bottom between the bow and the floor I must have pulled, ripped 150-200 lbs of wet foam from mine and it was a trailered boat never left in the water more than a day or two.
ps a very common rot spot seem to be rite in front of the gastank well so lift the rug and check under the seat.

The seat back measures 63" wide x 15" tall. All sides are straight just the padding looks curved on the top edge.

Thanks alot. Just looking at your frame beneath the seat. What are the measurments on those as well as the bolsters? Think I'm going to set mine up exactly that way. Thanks again, Jim

If you contact Mike at Checkmate, they can probably help you out. In fact I'm sure they'll even make the seats for you if you like.

Thanks. I've already paid my upholstery guy for the entire job. Just need to construct the seat itself. Thanks guys.
