That cowl looks strange.

It looks tall.

Has to be the V8 Optimax.

Launched in Australia first in the tradition of the Mariner brand. :D

Depends on whether they are after speed or bling.

There is no point to polish what no-one can see...

No, it is a full billet x front for both the 2.5 and 3.0. The coolest part is they are using real reed cage. They have gone quiet so who knows what happened to them.

That's a shame. I like the 2.5 idea. I`m working on a joint project with a Taylor Six horn front on the Merc 3.0L platform so that's why I was asking.

The good thing about the reed cage running perpendicular to the cylinder centerline is that as the rod moves away from BDC it uncovers the intake tract equally on each bank . The bad thing is that to package it requires that the area to house reed block is rather small .
They actually did a great job of getting as much reed petal area possible in such a cramped space ...

I wonder if anyone ever experimented with a curved reed block to get more area close to the crank?

http://www.riskyracing.com/images/img0042.png That V force reed block is right off my KTM 250SX. 54 horses out of 1/2 of one 3 liter cylinder. And has torque up the ying yang.
