We had that superboat in our shop for some work. What a hard boat to drive kudos to them guys.

Very sad! R.I.P Tony!
That was one fast and light Superboat. My old boat, I converted to pleasure. It ran well with a pair of 260’s back then. JC made that boat especial for Tony and his partner. It had a 60gl gas tank in the bow for ballast while racing or it would be uncontrollable, bow to the moon in rough waters.
Yes, the large step made it a bit hard to handle once aired out.

Lots of familiar faces there Noli!... Also R.I.P Joe Scrog

I've been searching for this small 30 seconds video clip of Tony racing in a Skater 21...mostly white...single outboard...says Ocean Outboard on the side.
The thing that made this video clip so special is that he had the 21 trimmed nose-up and running fast in the rough! I first saw this video from Freeze Frame VHS tape!

I dealt with him a few times in the 90s. A nice guy with a class operation.

Couple of 400Rs on that 34 would be sweet. :D
.
agreed, but back in 2010 this was the hot motor. I know you've heard this a million times, but "I never should'a sold her" :nonod:
Tony was meticulous in the rigging.

I wanted to post on this thread as it was brought to my attention that the Skater I recently purchased was originally ordered by Tony for Ocean Outboard.
So here are a few pics... if anyone has any pics of this hull when it was racing, I would appreciate it!

I remember when tony was the yard manager at Oneils in east rockaway in the early 80's they were a big checkmate dealer but also sold shadows
I couldnt afford a shadow so i settled on a used mate
bought one years later from tony at his place in merrick...... it was early on they were still rigging boats in the showroom
cool to see the activator, sutphin and skater on the windows
