Hi all,
I recently purchased a 2007 300xs Midsection with the heavy duty bracket. Unfortunately, I have found that one of the trim hoses has a damaged thread in the internally threaded flare nut on the upper fitting near tilt pin (closest hose in the picture below).
Before changing out the hose, I would like to attempt to clean up the tread with a thread tap. Does anyone know the size/pitch of this tread?

Thanks again

Don't think its deep enough to get a tap in it ? dremel tool might do it.

Thanks, yes, I am worried about that, but the damage is on the first few threads, and I'm hoping a blind tap may just clean it up.

Can't you just replace the nut?

If you have a spare male fitting (regular steel, hydraulic fitting) use your dremel and cut some slices in the threads (like a tap)
Then with oil carefully cut the internal threads (take your time) :-)

Or ... change the nut, remember double flare.

Thanks Nice Pair, I don't have a spare fitting, but I will give that a go if I can find the right fitting (I don't have a spare) any idea on the thread pitch/size as I should be able to pick up cheap locally.
Failing that I will see if I can get a local hose shop to cut off/replace with the hose still fitted, and take it from there.

Thanks again

Sorry Bud, don't know the thread or pitch. I do have a spare fitting if you want to drop by.

Can't you just replace the whole line?

If I had to guess, maybe a #6 JIC

How is the hose from the pump to that fitting? might have to buy two hoses?

Thanks to all for your input. I managed to clean up the thread with the dremel, lubricate it and slowly work it on. I have removed and installed it a couple of times now and it looks good to go.
Thanks again
