Our interview with Marcus from Nitra Boats was really popular, so we did another with Mark Weigl from Tuff Marine. Mark talks about the 24 design, a new model coming up and how he got started. When you look at the 28 and 24 performance based on power, they are about the fastest V-hulls around. The 28 is doing 121 MPH with an Ilmor 725 and the 24 is at 98 MPH with a stock Evinrude 250HO. Mark alludes to next years demo 24 beating that with a 300.

Curious if anyone has footage of a Tuff 28 running in some nasty 4'-6' seas?

Curious myself. Mentioned it in the past, to no avail. All lake stuff. Any size Tuff racing out there?

Taken from interview:

We could make a rough water wave killer Vee bottom but why? There are lots of them out there, so we seem to be in the “worlds fastest in category” game of Vee bottoms.

I do know that some have ballasts, so you could certainly add some weight easily to keep it planted. I know Lake Ontario near where they are built gets really nasty.
