I have a Lake and Bay boca hull built by another company back in the early 90s. The fuel tank is on it's last legs. It is a 50 gallon located in the bow. Since I have to pull the cap to do this work, I would like to go back with a smaller tank in the bow and then another tank near the stern. The boat feels bow heavy with such a light motor (2.4 merc). I think being able to play with the weight distribution will help me.
I understand some Lake and Bays were built like this. So if anyone has this setup, I'd like to know more about it, and how you like it. Some pictures would also be helpful

There were 2 tanks mounted between the stringers under the floor. Rear 35 gals, front 30 gals. Front tank had fill, vent and pickup in front hatch area. Rear tank had the fill, and pickup under the rear deck. Vent for rear tank tee'd into the vent of the front tank. It's an ok set up and lets you choose front heavy or rear heavy or balanced. Most people ran each tank 1/2 full and used mainly the rear tank and the front for reserve. I prefer a single tank for it's simplicity. A long single 70 gal tank is what I put in my go fast flats boat. I rarely fill it unless i'm going camping in the everglades. Normally run it 1/2 full or less. Fill and vent are in the front, p/u is in the rear. Tank is under the floor centered in the boat.

I don't plan on removing the floor It is not built into the cap like the Lake and Bays. But I may end up tearing that up too. I can put a tank under the rear deck. It would start about 1.5-2 ft forward of the transom according to some rough measurements and would be about 25-30 gallons. I'll see if I pull the cap this weekend and either update this thread, or go ahead and start another thread showing the build/rebuild
