What is your current speed and rpm? How far above the pad do you have the propshaft? 3cyl or 2 cyl 60? Gear ratio?

I am gonna take a guess and say that with a 60 HP motor, 14 ft Sidewinder you are just about done at 45 MPH. I am running a 2011 Mercury 150 Optimax, 4 blade MI Wheel 22 P and I can hit 50 MPH and still have throttle to go but run out of water.

3 Blades are for Torque and pulling something...4 Blades give lift to the the Transom for running smooth and flat.

I think you need a bigger motor to get any more that 45 MPH and that is respectable for the boat and the 60 HP....Much more than that you are gonna get sketchy and chine walking and that wont be good.

I am going to say you have a 14 Lo Pro Sidewinder and I think Max HP is 85 to 100 on that hull. A 16 ft Sidewinder is rated for 125 HP...I was surprised to find out my 16 ft Schuster Tahiti Torino was rated as Max 150 HP.

Little boat with a whole alotta motor.

well I am not so sure what your doing and what prop your using, because you are not doing 52mph with a 22 pitch prop at those rpm.
dont care what the gps says,

seeing so many people on water with the gps speed way off the mark.

maybe need to check the tachometer. !!!!
because at these rpm your getting minus 10% slip ( an impossible figure).
unless your getting this speed while going down a river with a current running 7mph its way wrong.

could be the Ron hill prop pitched wrong too, lots of his props have wrong pitch on them. as do many others.

you have a longshaft 3 cylinder with 2.42 ratio.

also the motor if flat out at 5500 then its not gonna last long, it needs to be revving at 6,000 rpm to breathe good.

on the tach thing, I am also having a problem in that the tacho will not read past 6,100 on mine , yet I can get ot 6100 and then
put the hammer down a bit more and hear the motor rev up, yet tacho still showing the 6100 rpm ????

maybe the omc gauges are not so good or got too old now ? I will start topic on that problem ha ha .

if you are getting 52mpg from the sidewinder then stay around that and be safe.
