The nice Lady in the picture is building my 308, interestingly, she built the 1998-28 we owned also. The resin infusion is starting in the hull in the next pic. The boat has been in the mold since January.

nice pic

Looks like the two sponsons are under vacuum pressure and the tunnel ceiling will be done next?

Kirk also builds trailers.

"Got materials yesterday, we had a little hurricane problem. 10" side rails, 6" cross members, it's a little overbuilt for a 5000 pound boat.", Kirk said.

We are going to have some really fast mid size cats in the Florida camp. I bet Patty will like the wind protection factor much more which will in turn make it a better boat for Jim as well.

Thanks Joe, Patty insisted on a Skater, she likes the high sides. I hope I like the 400r.

I ran the 36 Doug Wright last week with Myric out at LOTO and they are a different piece then what we are used to. Top end is good but you have to keep them wound up to feel response. I am pretty sure that 3 XS motors would fit right on that 308 transom;)

Trips were my first plan, love the XS with X pans and cowlings. However everyone I discussed it with said it was a bad setup, except Joe.

Once you have had a 30+ foot cat with 3 its had to go any other way. If I ever get a big one again, it will have them. Look forward to seeing this thing "I know it will be right with you in charge".

It's in position to turn the corner and get into decking! I sorta' recognize that silver/red boat in the background..... ;)

I noticed it, what’s the story? Update us somewhere. It looks like the glass work is close.

It was close when I was up there in June and looked about the same in Sept. I don't think hes in a big hurry and wants to see what Merc. releases for the next power series. Last time we talked, he was really busy with work.

Busy with work is good...more funds to play with when things get sorted out.

Hey guys, yes, Paulo finally got all the bodywork completed about a month ago. All the new work is in prime, and now Pete has a couple guys sanding the entire boat in preparation for all new paint. Next, it will get flipped over and the entire bottom gets painted black. I fly back in 4 weeks to check on it again before it goes into the paint booth. I'll make sure I get pics of your rig this time Jim, trust me, my buddy that owns a 308 will probably be crawling all over it, seeing how they look in their build stage. And you're 100% correct Joe, I'm waiting for 2018 motors (hopefully 450s from what I'm hearing), and I just got finished working 20 days in a row. This is the best my business has been since everything crashed after '08. Keep up with the great detective work AZ, I love seeing all your spy pics that are the first to hit the internet!

The wood panel is a template, there are two options for the side panels. I selected that one. The template is used to trace the shape on a corrugated (honeycombed) aluminum panel that the interior people staple and glue unto

Where are the tanks on this? And that transom support looks stout.

Jim I recommended 4” holes all over it to lighten it up but they said you had to approve first

On her way home. Pickup from Skater factory. The 308 fits like a glove on the trailer.
