Putting a 1998 2.5 175 back together- power pack motor- I would like to go CDMs instead- I have a 2000 up exhaust divider which would have proper mounting for CDM plate- any reason I can not use newer divider with mount for CDMs on the older block? I have seen this done before- power pack to CDM ignition- just I have not done it-
I believe stator and trigger will swap over - then if I can figure out how to mount voltage regulator plate - that would do it-
there is one for sale on this site that is a PP to CDM swap

To got to CDM, you will need the ECM and a different stator & trigger....plus the CDMs. Then different voltage regulators OR you will be doing a lot of cutting off connectors and re wiring. But the divider should work ....

I've probably got a half-dozen complete CDM electric systems with stator trigger and module
That's why I want to change this over from Power Pack
There are those who argue but I've had power pack let down on me 15 miles out in the ocean
But I've never had a CDM system lay down on me in a way I couldn't fix it quickly by carrying one spare CDM with me

I find the CDM triggers to be a regular problem.

I find the CDM triggers to be a regular problem.
I thought the popular thing to do when they go out on the cdm motors was to convert it all to switchboxes ignition for reliability ???

original question was about the exhaust manifold
I found a new gasket here so I fit it up to both they are the same they should interchange.
Thanks

I reviewed the CDM trigger vs the PP trigger- they have sequential part numbers, the body of the trigger has the same number on both, wiring the same except termination -
plug vs terminal eyes- I don't think there is any difference other than wires. I have seen insulation issues on wires on short pigtail on CDM -
