I have a 2000 200efi. Motor has been ruck cut 225. Wizard pistons, 125 compression across the board. Ran 6700rpms last year with a 27 pitch prop. Wont turn any prop past 5500 rpms this year. I have good spark, not missing at 5500rpms. When i reach half throttle at 5500rpms any additional throttle input just makes the motor sound louder like its laboring. No increase in rpm or speed. I have tried a 21, 23 and 27 pitch, all go to 5500 and just hang there. I have not checked fuel pressure running but the motor comes out of the hole strong and pulls right to 5500rpms. I have tps set at .24, 23degrees timing. All switch boxes are new, spark tester showed great spark at cranking speed. I do have ebay voltage regulators and I recall regulator/rectifiers may cause problems? The regulators were new last year. Any help is appreciated.

Check your fuel pressure regulator, as they can start to leak fuel through the vacuum hose.

Also check if your injectors gives good spray pattern and that same amount is comming out of them all.
Check fuel filters.
Check harnes condition. Connectors for loose connection.
Check reed valves for wear and missing bits.

just some suggestions.

My carb motor did something like that when I accidentally jetted.012 too rich. Maybe sticking injectors? Check tank vent. Dirt dobbers will plug any hole they can fit in here. Mike
