I just bought a new 2001 250 johnson and I have a 2001 225 ficht so I am already buying ficht oil. Is there any advantage to using ficht oil in the Johnson or should I use the Johnson oil? Thanks

The FICHT oil is a semi-synthetic, if I remember correctly, and will be better than the Johnson mineral oil.
I believe some people, like the Bakers (www.scaryfast.com) have been very impressed by the FICHT oil for high-performance applications, but as a general rule, a full synthetic would be even better and may even be cheaper than the FICHT oil.
To learn more about oils, check out some of the places on my links page (see below).

I agree with Markus fight oil is a synthectic blend and at idle burns a little cleaner. On a carb johnson I would not use ficht oil unless you were hard running and then I would think of 100 percent synthectic oil. We have been playing alot with problem fichts and the early ones have had some weird problems. We x-rayed a computer to find a bad spot in a board after 3 powerheads. Now the computers are a great deal better. Rick
