Well i got together with my friend Nick last week, who was kind enough to lend me a couple of 5 blade props and we went to the St.Lucie river he with his triple engine 30' Velocity and i with my Tuff, my buddy Mike came along with a WaveRunner to try and get some videos of us running. I lightened up the boat a bit by taking out the carpet and a few easy things that I can take out and and put back in in about 10 min. I started of with a third of a tank of fuel (20 gal) and ran a few passes with the 32 DR-4 Spinelli's to get a good base line running a 96-96.5 at 6000-6100 (tel:6000-6100) rpm, i then put on a set of 30 Hearings and a bit of fuel and ran a few passes at 98 @ 6200 rpm and a few more at 99 @ 6250-6300 (tel:6250-6300) on the limiter, didn't have time to try the 31's that day as all of us had someplace else we had to be but this Saturday my buddy Mike and i went back out with the Tuff and WaveRunner and tried the 5 blade 31's, again starting with 20 gal fuel, ran a few passes at 100 @ 6100 rpm between rain squalls and then stretched her out to 101 at right about 6200. Wow what a great feeling, very well settled and steady and the hydraulic assist steering is the cats ass, can't quite steer it with one hand but I'm getting there and the Porta Bracket is amazing allowing you to fine tune that X dimension. Mike took some pics and videos of us running wich i'll try to post when he gets them to me.

NICE PAIR

Thanks, the 30's were Herings through hubs and the 31's were unmarked through hubs, Nick wouldn't elaborate to much on these props just said they were real good props.

D.D. does not mark his stuff- very cool to see you getting the number and still having the boat handle. Like you said, having the bracket makes it so easy to bring them up until you loose water pressure and or efficiency. We made a vow that there will be a train of boats headed to LOTO next year at this time-you are invited, we got the ultimate house/dock/location and I have it booked again for next year.

It would be nice to have another one hear in Florida somewhere to race with.

I am going to have something put together that you two can race pretty soon and Paul will have his done even sooner. Get ready to rumble....

James, which boat was faster? 2 motors or 3?

2 motors was faster but 3 motors runs low 90's when needed, not bad for 7000 lbs of boat

3 motors get there quicker?

The Velocity is a bigger, taller freeboard, heavier boat than the Tuff plus you have a sitdown boat with less wind resistance vs a standup boat with more wind resistance..two different animals with a common heritage. Outboard powered V bottoms!!!

I think told me 95/96 in race trim.

Two totally different boats. The Velocity is huge compared to the Tuff. A real cabin too. Stripped, but still a cabin.

Regardless, a 28' twin O/B vee that runs a true 100??
My term would be, "BAD ASS".

Fast enough to spook a bunch of cats.
