Subject says it all. I have a small chip about the size of ones figernail which goes to the mat. Should I just sand/grind around the edges and start filling with gel until it's level and then sand and buff? Or what is the best procedure so as to not have a noticable joint?

Thanks

I'd buy a gel coat repair kit and follow their directions on matching color and finishing. If it's too deep you might have to put a little mat in to keep the repair from showing. The dircetions with the kits are pretty good.

If you start sanding it is going to go from a thumbnail to a hand.

All the Gel repair stuff ive used shrank alot when it dried and needed alot of buildup layers ..Now I fill first if its more than an 1/8 inch deep then gel the last layer..Evercoat 27 works good for a filler..
