I have used DB electrical alts. and have had good luck on 225 opti's. Easy to deal with. Good price. Work same as oem.

Yeah i am trying to find a OE car one that is going to have good bearings in it and not pay mercury's X4 price for the same part.

The pulley ratio on these motors has the poor little alternator spinning really fast.

May be bosch? Got to be a common unit that is just clocked one way or the other. I have seen a very similar unit on a toyota forklift.

if i remember correctly they're made by Nippondenso.

why not have yours rebuilt?

If it just needs bearings I would think any alt/starter shop can replace them. Or remove the bearings and look for part numbers on them.

I say go buy new one saves you time and trouble later on.
If you rebuild on your own fine maybe $50,one of your time might last 6 years or brushes go out in two weeks.
A shop will only do complete rebuild with maybe 90days warranty $80
Buy new one $94 with one year warranty its the same alternator mercury sells just not in a mercury box:D
