E tec 250ho vs 300

What up guys, I come to the conclusion I want a E TEC I've done a search and can't get a actual answer of what's the real difference between the two other than just computer?
I'm looking for a new motor for my 24 foot Superboat,
Anybody know the pros and cons of the two?

I thought that I read on the Dirk Pitt Tuff rigging thread that the 250HO and the 300 made exactly the same power.

Ive found and heard from dealers that the 250HO makes more than the 300 by like 13HP.
