Does anybody know what the purpose of the large rubber washers are that go around the upper motor mounts?

After changing to solid mounts they have no purpose. On rubber mounts, the rear washers serve as a stop for mount flex/travel and the rubber washers are just a cushion in between to keep from having a metal to metal contact.

So can I leave them in, or should they come out? I have composite mounts. Thanks for the advice, K-dog

They don't hurt anything with any type mount. If the mounts flex enough under load to let the washer get anywhere near the retention area of the plate they should stay in.
