throttle cable - how long?

I bought a Bob's foot throttle for my Voo Doo last year but never got a cable for it. I'd like to start this year right by installing the foot throttle.

My boat is hundreds of miles away and I can't measure for a throttle cable.

Does anyone know how long a cable to order? The boat length is 13'4". No setback now, but one day there might be 2" or so.

Is there a down side to ordering too long?

Other then having to coil it up, and trying to hid the excess somewhere i don't think there is a down side. Make sure you do the biggest loops you can so it wont bind

in my delta i have a footy and its 13.5 feet and a 16 foot cable works well so around there is good.
