Help!

Installed a Merc oil injection block-off plug and it leaks. I'm getting alot of blow-by. It's the plastic plug with the O-ring. Is this common and what is the fix for this. I was thinking of cutting the stem with the O-ring off of it and inserting it back into the gearhole in the block. Then make and aluminum plate with a gasket and install that over the top. Now that I think of it I need to attach the stem to the plate or the stem might rotate in the hole and jam with the oiler gear. Any suggestions.....anybody?

It should haver one O-ring in the groove about 1 inch from the top and another o-ring beneath the top flange that fits in the bevel opening for the drive gear...

Thanks,

I will check to see if I'm missing that O-ring.

Do not cut the stem.....that's all that holds the brass bushing at the other end from coming loose and causing major damage.
Yes, there should be 2 o-rings on the Merc piece.

We offer a nice piece made from 6061 billet alum with an "o" ring ! ( Plastic sucks , billet is the ONLY way to fly for a "true" fix ! ) Call for prices !
