i have a 80-81 225 one bad piston, cylinder is fine, this piston has one port hole in the piston instead of three like the 200 piston,(two small holes and one large hole),Can i use a 200 piston(bore size the same)in this motor?,putting the 200 piston in the bore, the outer transfer holes(small holes) are covered by the cylinder. This motor has different port configuration than the 200,(no finger ports).

kinda sounds like ya got a 2.0 liter motor there. No finger ports? I'd just buy the right piston instead stuffing the wrong one in there.

Your engine did not have finger ports in the cyls when it was made. The pistons are no longer made for that engine. The newer pistons with the finger port holes will work fine. I have one good starboard old style piston if you want it. I will take $25 shipped.

email me if interested. The first 225 did not have fingerports, but it had the 7 petal reeds and Wh-20 carbs from the factory.
$25.00 ea + shipping.

Compare the weight of the pistons to be sure. I have used the newer pistons in the old 225.
