Resolution in the Josh Cooper aka 91eagle/Chris Carson mattOn April 3 and fourther

On April 3 and 4 I purchased from josh Cooper, 91 Eagle, a set of heads and exhaust plate,Cowl,pan and skirt,and a prop. They were to be shipped by the weekend. Four weeks later, after many failed promises to ship,mr. Cooper ceased to communicate with me at all,phone,text,and email.After 10 days of silence I finally placed the post on Screamandfly, which got an almost immediate response. I offered to pay for the shipping again if the goods would be taken to the UPS store, and agreed to delete the post after shipment, which I did. The parts arrived last Friday, 38 days after payment through PayPal as a friend, the cowl was dropped in a thin cardboard box, the prop and exhaust we're dropped into the cowling with no padding, the heads were bubble wrapped. The coils and wires that I was told would be included were not,and the cowl pan is missing the metal mounting plate. Mr. Cooper answered his phone yesterday, the first time since Friday, and tells me the missing parts were not listed in the ads so I'm not going to get them and our businesse is through.
I feel as though I would've never gotten any of the parts had I not put the post on s&f,and I feel as though Mr. Cooper did his best to see that the cowl would be damaged by placing a heavy,loose,unwrapped or boxed propeller inside to bounce around in a lightweight cowl.
The purpose of this post is not to gain sympathy, but as a long time vendor and member I feel a warning is due, Chris

Partly because he's my friend , and partly because I'll probably pass on before I have a chance to pay him back for not just "things" but the things he has took the time to teach me over the years .
But mostly because it's the right thing to do in a situation like this .
I have no idea what your add said or what your conversations with Chris where about. It's none of my business and I don't want to know . But you know what you said . Take some time to think about it , and if you still own him some stuff , then send it to him . What's the big deal ? Some used coils and other junk gonna make or break you ?
And if you are hurting for money and sold his stuff out from underneath him , having raised a handful of son's and employees , I'm sure he would even understand that too . Pretty easy guy to get along with .. all it takes is a little self respect and open communication , and even you too can be redeemed .... :thumbsup:

I brought this back to the top. Any guess why? Sure wish I had seen it earlier. This is not about the money, I could not care less. I have been selling and giving away a lot of stuff lately to clear out building I must sell. Much of the stuff was sent out before payment and only one individual took advantage of that. I was suspicious when he blamed the wife for sending it out without a tracking number. I guess some just don't care about their reputation.

I did sell Chris several parts that I posted on here they were the first time and the last time I sold any parts here....I also started a PayPal solely for the purpose of selling Chris those parts once he purchase them PayPal thought that they should hold the money for a while I did not ship any parts until after a PayPal release the funds that was nowhere near quick enough for Chris I sold him a few different things two of them being an alien cowl and a set of heads .... the ad know where said that the pan came with the cowl and nowhere in the ad did it say that a set of coils came with the heads but after receiving the parts Chris was very upset that the package did not contain the extra items that he would like to have had... after several frustrating phone conversations I was informed that if I didn't send all the extra parts that he wanted he would continue to post negative things on the site which didn't bother me that much other than the fact that i get a lot of valuable information from Scream and fly...and have made a few friends here. so at the end the day the cowl and other parts that he purchased for a very reasonable price .... apparently the packaging was not up to par but as he is posted above nothing was damaged....to sum it up.. Chris which probably is a very good guy .. is running my name through the mud because the parts I sent him could have been damaged but we're not at all...... and he is also upset because of the parts that he requested I send him for free ( that were not included in the sale) took too long to get there...... Chris I think you got a very good deal .... and I apologize for the delay ..... and I think the last time we spoke you told me you would post an apology for any negative things you said about me and remove the negative threads if I would just send you the free Parts you wanted and they were sent and received a long time ago . But I'm sure every cowl sold on here has a pan with it for free and every set of heads sold on here comes with free coils.....so if you want to I don't have any problem with you leaving this up

Mounting plates come with cowls. It's not an "extra charge" item. If the cowl didn't come with it the ad should've stated that. Also, while the cowl apparently made it undamaged it doesn't sound like that was your intent

We have some unfinished business that needs to be finished up. I sent you your part before payment because I trusted you as a member of our community. You have to be up front with people and do what you say you are going to do and then do it in a timely fashion. Like many of the members here Chris is a friend of mine and you need to understand we should and will look after one another. That money was out of my account then...and in yours,whether you had quick access to it or not,shouldn't have held up shipping.
Yes there were frustrating calls,for a month I was told over and over the parts were shipped and you would text the tracking number...But I never threatened you in any way.Then 10 days with no responce at all,I finally reached out a bit and was able to get your attention...And I'm not talking about here.This pissed you off enough to decide the coil stuff wasn't in the written ad,so I wouldn't be able to prove they were agreed as part of the deal,and you removed the cowl mount plate thinking it wasn't mentioned as well.Then,for your final act,you put the cowl in a thin cardboard box with a heavy chopper prop dropped in loose...no padding at all inside the cowl or on the prop or exhaust plate...and I had to pay again to the ups store this time to get the stuff on its way.I would have loved to see the disapointment on your face had you been able to see the cowl wasn't smashed in transit,which was clearly your intention.

Chris is a standup guy. Early on when I was just getting started in boating. I bought some modified reed cages and reeds. They were sent USPS which I learned to never use, and were lost somewhere in the Atlanta sorting facility. Chris sent another set no charge even though USPS takes no responsibility for lost packages.

Rock is a good guy also. Hosted a pair of river runs years ago where I learned a
lot about how to drive my ally

Sounds like eagle is changing his story to make himself look better, when he must not realize both of these members have been around doin the right thing for a long time.

if i was buying a used cowl and pan (and i have) i would expect it to be complete unless otherwise explaine or negotiated no matter what the price was. Its those grey areas that make people look bad

Josh...We have heard both sides of the story but you have yet to address, or provide excuses, as to why I have not been paid for parts you received. So far I have heard you blame your wife and then promise to make it right which you have not. As I stated earlier it is not about the money in this instance. It's about warning members about how you do business so they can avoid having some of the issues you seem to bring to the table. If you will send the money you owe me to Greg so he can put it towards the operation of the site I will remove my posts and you will never hear from me again. If you continue to avoid the issue I will do my best to keep this thread alive or maybe even better yet start a new one. Man up.

SUPER DEAL..alien cowl and chopper prop ..best price you will find
I have an alien cowl with the blue and white decals and a 24 pitch Chopper prop I've already listed both with these ....My bridgeport took a crap on me last month.. I found a power head drop on locally for at amazing price and it won't last long I am a little short of his asking price so I need to sell these extra parts today...... super cheap I am only selling them this cheap so I can get the power head ....I'll take 400 for the cowl skirt and pan and throwing the prop in for 75 if you want it also.......you'll get a really nice prop an alien cowl for really cheap and help a fellow boater get back on the water ASAP.....it's starting to get warm so I gotta do what I gotta do lol.....I took the power head off and disassembled it when it blew last month so the cowl is already sitting on the shelf and ready to ship out....thanks for looking guys ..pm me for more pics my phone sucks loading pics on here

....Is the plastic lightweight one piece... and hasn't been cut on so the inside is still there and I have the plate and the skirt to go with.....I'm not positive but I think it's a factory made one if you no the way to tell for sure let me know and I'll check you can pm your phone number and I can text as many pictures as you want

Very good advice Dave. I have started to liquidate to accommodate a major downsizing so as to fit into a much smaller shop. I have sold probably 15 props, 8 or 10 sets of heads, and numerous other parts. I shipped darn near everything before I had received payment because I trust those that are not on my list of "who not to do business with". Out of this most recent selling push I have one guy that does not want to play fair. Something to be proud of Josh. You're the only one.

FYI, and IMO...Paypal if fine IF you don't use the Friends and Family (free) option. If you pay their fee, they get in the middle if there is a dispute and return the funds. This isn't available on the free option as it's supposed to be to family and friends, not for payment of goods and services.

No doubt about that. I have been around here for a while and have probably done business with well over 100 different members and my guess is there ain't been 10 of them as old as I. Age has very little to do with it although I do agree with Dave that there seems to be a different mindset and it all goes back to parenting. It's all about character or should I say a lack of. If I would have tried to screw someone out of a dime my Dad or Mom would kick my ass and would probably dis-own me. You treat people, no matter who they are or how far away they are, the same way you want to be treated. It's not very complicated and so much easier to sleep at night.

I went through this same crap a few years back. The clown wanted my part ($75) and asked me where to send the funds so I gave him my address and asked for his. He gave me his address that day and I put the part in the mail that day out of kindness and scream and fly brotherhood. For five weeks I had excuse after excuse. First he says its in the mail. The week goes by and it doesnt' show. I ask again. Oh I forgot been busy will do it today(WTF? YOU SAID IT WAS IN THE MAIL ALREADY YOU IDIOT). Another week goes by and I ask again and he says its in the mail and he will send me a tracking number. Well never get tracking number and a week goes by and still no funds. Then I ask again and he says he will ship tomorrow morning first thing(AGAIN WTF? YOU SAID IT WAS SENT). When I call him out for his lies hes gets an attitude with me. I finally got the damn funds but had to go through lie after lie after lie. Pissed me off! I contacted Greg and informed of all this. The funds finally came. Now every since then I read his ridiculous posts with attitude towards others here when hes a freaking clown himself. He has plenty of money too. Buys a new boat every 6 months and is constantly complaining about this site and its users etc:rolleyes: I feel sorry for his wife.

Then a while back A member here says he wants a part i had advertised and asked where to send funds. Funds never showed and this bozo ignored several messages asking if he sent the funds or even intends too. No reply at all. I called him the ostrich. Sticks his head in a hole in the ground and acts like the conversation never happend. I wont stop buying and selling here tho. I will be more careful and wait for funds to arrive before sending and if funds don't show on the 5th day then part goes back up for sale.

In 2006 I wanted to buy a 2.4 power head from Frank Mole. I sent him a few hundred dollars deposit because i wanted that motor but was waiting on my pool customers to pay(they only pay once a month so I have to wait to the end of the month for my income) Frank was very cool and understanding and willing to work with me. Unfortunately for me life threw a wrench in my spokes and I wasnt able to get the funds right away and I apologized to Frank for his time and efforts with me over this. Frank and I agreed that the deposit would be non refundable and that he would keep the deposit and I wished him good luck selling it to somebody else. No hard feelings on either one of our sides. I thought that was a good ending and there was no drama whatsoever. Franks good People :thumbsup:

I will stick by the USPS as the preferred method of exchanging funds in ANY deal. They don't play around. PayPal wants to play Judge Judy, USPS is more like Doc Holiday...."Say When......"
