Wiseco forged replacement OMC 49.9 Mod-50 pistons are now available. They are improved versions of the #10908 previously supplied by the late Phil McDaniel. Designed for use with the Mod-50 or RD-series (40HP) “long” con rod, these pistons include a .120” top ring land, pre-machined boost and finger ports, plus hard anodized pin bores and fire dome. Each piston kit includes wrist pin & retainer clips and steel keystone rings. Size offerings include standard (3.000”bore), +.020”, +.030”, +.040”, and now +.050” oversize. Pricing is $135 each.

Just a brief follow up: Pistons have a flat anodized fire dome for use with the OMC service engine. Rings are Wiseco semi-keystone. Pistons will be available early August. Place your order now with the $135 introductory price. Thanks, Tim.

Breaking news: +.065” oversize Mod-50 replacement pistons now available!

Wiseco just approved manufacture of +.065” oversize pistonsfor the 49.7 CI OMC loop triple. Thismeans you can breathe new life into run-out or damaged +.040” blocks, creating a51.9 CI monster! Bore sizes now availableinclude: Standard, +.020”, +.030”, +.040”, +.050” and +.065”. Notes:

1) The +0.065” piston is legal for APBA 850cc Modand NBRA Super-E classes which share a maximum +0.070” bore size. Minor file fitting of +.065” piston ringsrequired.
2) Pistons require use of OMC Mod-50 (3/4” pinbore) or RD-Series 40 HP (5/8” pin bore) “long” connecting rods. “Skinny needle” wrist pin bearing conversionkits are required for the 5/8” pin bore RD-Series 40 HP connecting rods.
3) The Mod-50 replacement piston includes a flattop fire dome design that requires use of the 70 HP service cylinder head with pocketstyle combustion chambers.
