New member and thanks for having me. Looking into purchasing a STV rocket and with top speed in mind, what would be the motor of choice. I've looked at a number of other posts. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think it's fairly accepted that a well set up Drag will put you at 125 + mph ....

Monty has his for sale with a shortened E-Tec that will run high 20s or low 30s. The video attached is a 300X stroker that ran the same "yellow boat". The 3rd video is stock 300X on a mod VP. I personally like the 300X on the River Rocket that I have now (it is a 15 inch midsection). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DV7PJe7c34g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xy3iChUNGnc

Would it be possible to run a 2.5 with a 12" mid on the STV with a 15" transom?
