Guys, we worked with Sea Star (Teleflex) on a new designed part for their SeaStar jack plate. The concept is a simple step concept on setting up th trim and plate settings.
It uses digital senders and you can preset the trim, the jack plate uses 1/4" movements per tap on the stick. Holding the stalk switches down for about a half second allows the trim and hydraulic plate to go directly to your presets.
Holding the trim or hydraulic buttons down five seconds sets the presets.
Having used this now several hours on long runs it was a joy to setup and tweaks are easily seen. You know exactly where you are and if you get off track, holding it up or down goes to the up or down setting you want.
It is Multi engine and it also has a cool feature that raises the engine when you go to the tilt range automatically. This protects cabling and splash wells on tighter saltwater or bass boats.
Race guys might not need it, though those with flats, long runs and high performance definitely will like the ProTap. It removes all questions about the gauge, accuracy or where is my plate set. The trim feature is simply a bonus.
