78 Hydrostream Hydro locking?????

Hi guys when i take off the back of the boat water shoots up and feels like i am pulling a log.And boom it breaks free,i was told to make the metal strips on the bottom of the boat longer to break up the water more so it does not Hydolock to the water? HELP PLEASE SKYDOG 78 Hydrosteam Vulture 10in of set back 26 pitch Chopper 2.4 B.P. E.F.I.

To what "metal strips" are you referring to? How long and thick are they now? What kind of shape do they have and where are they located? I wonder if they are the same as what is on mine. I am restoring a Vulture right now. I am curious as to what has been done to yours as far as the pad/bottom is concerned.
