I've been thinking of purchasing a higher hp powerhead and getting rid of my 2.4L merc when ran across a new in the box 99' 225 promax. It's never been run so I'm weary about it... What are your thoughts?

Why don't you let me buy it and run it on my Progression for a few seasons to see if it's any good?

Lol I guess I'm concerned about electronics and seals that haven't operated in 18 years going bad from setting

Nothin' some c fome and new bearings won't fix.

I'd say chances are bearings and stuff are still greased. If you see corrosion and stiffness around the edges then be skeptical. Until then Buy it and Fly it.

How much do they want for a N.O.S. motor like that and is it carbed or injected. Complete motor, shroud, mid and lower unit? Just curious.

Check where and how it has been stored/preserved?

Injected complete drop on. I feel like it's an arm and a leg and I've seen fresh rebuilds go for less than half the asking price. It looks brand damn new and is within driving distance though

All I know is it was purchased off the original buyer who never used it
