That's incredible. Randy, did you get a close look at it? Do you know what the owner plans to do with it? I had the very same boat a long time ago, with red metalflake. That one looks mint.

That was out here in Dallas, not sure what chain of ownership it's had but it is nice. Core is probably still rotten. LOL

Boat did come from Dallas area. It is as clean as it looks. 1 bad is probably right about the core. I remember Sonik's Viper looked about the same and it had core issues. Motor seems to run well but have no clue what has been done to it. The new owner wants to learn how to drive one again and then put one of my 260s on it. Should run pretty well.

Um, I know that boat, my old roommate bought it new in the late 1980's, in the first pics it still has WA tags on it. It looks the same in the pics as when he had it. Rock where is it now?

If it's there by Rock and originally from your area, it's covered some crazy highway miles.

I know the person who had it here, it was only stored inside and used very little. Beautiful boat for sure.

It was stored inside and covered by the first two owners as well, not sure about the third owner who had it for 20 plus years in the "barn", but this one may have a sound core, who knows

The boat is in central Illinois and the new owner will make it even better. Keeps his stuff real nice. First thing is to remove that "thing"
and build a nice winch.

I bought that boat brand new. Last I knew, 1-2 years ago, it was in Silverdale Washington sitting it the same garage it had been for 20 years. The owner (3rd.) tracked me down to see if I wanted to buy it back. Said her husband only ran it twice in the 20 some years he owned it. Said he bought a Vegas right after this YT and decided just to hang onto it but always ran the Vegas. Since it was inside the last 20 years, it should be solid.
It had a carbed 2.4 on it. It would run 92-94 mph with a 28 Merc round ear.

Every time I see a Hydrostream YT my heart skips a quick beat. I've always loved the YT in both the V-King and Valero deck designs. @rock (http://www.screamandfly.com/member.php?u=993) with a 260 I think that boat would have little problem getting over 100 mph. The one I owned went 104 with its previous owner and a hot Bridgeport.

The YT was such a unique-riding boat. I always remember that it had a tendency to blow water spray right into your face. I remember mine would become 'unstuck' from the water at about 70 mph, then it would just take off. An extremely forgiving hull design.

Thank you for posting!

Greg, one day your boat will be a "barn find", and a real cool one at that.

That post was not intended as a cut down. I swear! Nothing wrong with having a "collectible" boat or car and preserving it for it's being a rare and a fine example of it's kind. Some people drive em, some people admire them. Nothing wrong with either way of thinking.

I used to live in Silverdale, woulda been neat to see that one. I had an '85 Voyager for a while I bought out of Spanaway before I got an Allison out from around Seabeck then the one I have now got shipped out there from VA.

I'm curious - did Howard Pipkorn design the YT hull and the Valero deck? Anybody know?
This boat was introduced in 1985, right?
