Hello boating gurus…
Let’s start by saying I know practically zero about boating when it comes to you folks. I have read lots of posts on here and you all def. know your stuff. With that being said I have a sort of vague question which I assume will drawing many opinions and that’s exactly what I am looking for.
I want a LAKE boat and I want it no bigger than say 30’ give or take a couple. No outboard engines, top speed a min of 125 and preferably open bow (not required though). I like the look of the Howard Boats 288 sport deck. Can’t afford a DCB or Skater (L).
So with those variables what boats out there fit the bill?

Don't be too hard on me....

26 redline with a blown I/O and a B-Max drive would be my route but its not my route for fear of loosing something mechanical at speed with single drive. The redline was designed by Doug Wright and consistently ran north of 125 with big power. The owner of the company was killed when a drive broke at these speeds. His employee/friend lived "they were testing". It too bad that you are against outboards because the DW 28 is the most economical high performance package available in that size range for a new boat. We have a group purchase order in process right now if you are interested in the details please call me (the price will shock you)

By the way, no boat experience and 125 mph usually don't mix well...we have lost a lot of people in recent years so what ever you end up please be safe and take baby steps-

I would be interested in seeing the 25 in action. I know what it took to make a 28 skater I/O run that hard and it was no easy feat. The only 30 that I have been in was Gary's yellow one and I assume that you know the best it ever ran.

JP,

I didn't know that Gary ever had a yellow 30 I/O which is what we're describing here, correct? And i you're referring to outboards power, The Predator C30 non-widebody with twin 300XS has ran 106MPH using DeWald props. The owner is located in Daytona Beach.

This was my original post

The bustle will be hiding the tunnel extension

The Predator C25 has run 117mph with 600Hp(twin 300XS's), but with a single blown I/O which will have a small center pod to protect the drive on a lake will reach 125+
