Finally got out yesterday for fishing and testing of new to me boat. I've been working on this boat since I purchased in January
1989 Vision 180 Pro
Motor: 1994 Mercury Pro Max 150 HP
5" Highjacker jackplate
Prop to pad: 4" (Motor was all at the bottom of jackplate when purchased)
Best GPS speed: 63.5
RPM: 5300-5400
Water pressure: 13-14 psig (New water pump installed) at wide open throttle (7-8 psig idle)
Prop: Quicksilver Laser II 24P (48 16994 A40 24P) Evidence of sand damage on end of blades (Not bad, but not perfect)
Pro Max lower unit only has 4 inlet holes to water pump
Running conditions:
1/2 tank fuel
7-8 rods and reels with some tackle
Rooster tail approximately cowl high
Slight chine walk, but drivable
I had setup at Prop to pad 3.5" when I started the morning but I noticed when I accelerated boat from 35-40 mph to wide open throttle water pressure would drop down to 10-11 psig as boat speed increased. So I lowered .5" and kept riding and
fishing.
Thanks for your input and assistance.-
