I took the Tuff to the lake today to put it on the new trailer. I tested some race props last week, (Herings and Dewald props) and ran a 98.3 with 1/3 tank of gas and no interior. After putting in the full interior, filling the gas tank, and running with two guys in the boat, It dropped to 92 mph with the same Hering 31 x 14.5" four blade props. Since I returned all the race props, all I had was a pair of Spinelli DR4 props. These were 32 x 14'5". I ran them on my yellow 25 Liberator. The tuff was still full of gas and now runs a bit over 95 with gas and 2 guys. Picked up 3 mph? Acceleration was awesome and now only takes about 3 seconds to get on plane. I even took off with motors at the running trim level and 2.5" above the bottom and it still got on plane in about 3 seconds. I showed my wife the video. All she said was "How come the boat's not touching the water?" She just doesn't understand! Here's a video making a couple passes at 97 with just me in the boat. Maybe someone can embed the video here for me.

Do you think with a little chop it might air out better?

It did when I ran it before. I also swapped gearcases to turn the props out and lost about 1.5 mph. Turning out created a roostertail about 15ft high and over 100ft long! It was very cool but Turning in was faster

Randy,
That boat runs as good as it looks! Better yet, it's rigged with your usual "over the top" eye towards every little detail. I'm sure somebody will be thrilled to take that bad boy home!

No I didn't, but it would only change 1/8"

The acceleration is very impressive. With the IMCO power steering I am driving with one hand and the other on the throttles. I never have to trim down or lower the motors to get on plane either.

I'd be willing to bet a good 12"-18" chop and a full size lake, you'll see 100. Boat looks great!

Some of Mother Nature's aeration should free that big boy up nicely.

100mph goal is right around the corner. Even more impressive to run 95mph with he 60 gallon tank full of gas.
