I always like the 24' HTM and they can be found pretty cheap now. Center pod cat I wonder if they would make a good outboard conversion.
They make an open bow version that would be very cool.

Looks like a rigging nightmare! Would like to see how those hoses attach to the lower pans, maybe 25 or 30 inch motors would have been the better choice.

More setback but maybe they tried and it handled poorly.

Props are spinning inboard.......Won't that give more bow lift on a cat? Strange rig job for sure....

Heck, 88 would be great... I didn't see that in the listing. It just said it "might go faster unloaded".

One motor oil injected and the other premix? Have to be a lot of trouble. I would have just taken the oil injection off. Definitely needs way more motor.IMO

88 mph is better than average for one of those with 450 hp

i need to get out of this drive thru window job and get a real job. my paycheck does not coincide with a 35,000 to 50,000 dollar boat as being a cheap project boat. got excited about the idea until i clicked on that powerboat listings link.

You woudlnt tear into one with good power ready to go boating. Find a hull minus motor/drive.

This one is not about the money . It's about driver comfort . The project part would be to move the controls to that hole in the front so he will feel right at home , just like he was drivin a Biel .... :D

Whats really tough is driving a boat with two foot pedals. :leaving:

I couldn't find the Firebird raceway drag video. IIRC the owner and engine builder did not survive a bad crash. They had a drag class for them.

The ones that really run have 1000+ h.p. I have a friend with one and worry about a him breaking a drive at the speeds he is running. They made a 30 footer for a short time before the owner was killed.

140mph plus boats with power a buddy has one.
I know for a fact that they made at least one 24 with twin OB's. The owner sent me pics and brochures before he died. HTM2 started up after his death and I think still making boats out of another shop. Loyal following.
