I will be visiting family in Venice in July. And was just looking for recommendations for a Boat rental place that rents pontoon boats.
I have Transient boated through the Area transporting yachts and would love to do some beach hopping and sight seeing for a day.

Freedom Boat Club is on the island near the south jetty.
You have to pass them to get to the jetty.
From there you are just a few minutes to all the cool spots on the ICW in Venice.

Dago.

Where are the dry Pits and launching area?
Are there any recommendations like cool sand bars or shelling islands?

The boats are launched at the 10th street boat ramps. Great viewing of them entering the water and heading out.

They then pass through the New Pass to get to the race course. Here is a link to a friends website. It shows new pass and the sand bar at the cove to the right where you can get a great veiw of the boats heading out.

Rent the biggest most seaworthy boat they have. It gets rough and the race course area is usually a circus. Coming and going in New pass is shut down the day of the race. Gotta use the next pass to the south to get into the gulf.

CB'S boat rental on siesta key has a large fleet of boats only they dont allow the pontoon boats in the gulf. Big pass is open to enter the gulf day of race.

So I rented a Pontoon from Venice boat rental, Seems like a decent place boat is a 2016 22 foot with a 115 yamaha I wanted to stay away from big crowds we are taking family out for the day and will be looking for a nice sand bar or beach to hang out on, I know there is a small island just inside the inlet Can anyone recommend better places as well as decent restaurants we can tie up at? Any sites that must be seen? Thanks guys. I want to appear as I know where to go before we all look at each other and say "Now What"......
