For those who run at night, something I did a few years back was to add a small LED light bar to the rear of the pan, lower cowl. Mounted it facing down to prop, lights the leg and prop wash, looks cool when running at night with the spray and gives extra light to check prop when starting in the dark.

The problem with virtually all of the "aesthetic" LED lighting is that it is not legal for use while underway according to USCG regulations. Said another way, it's also "probably cause" to get pulled over and will probably just get you a ticket.

BLAH, the one I used is marine use. Fitting LEDs in place of incandescent bulbs is always a plus, bow lights etc. The water police up here have common sense and like see boats in top shape.

He was referring to any additional lights other than running lights.

Aesthetic, such as? I only know what needs to on a boat.

Correct! Up here, lots of folks are adding underwater LED's to their transoms and LED strips to the sides of their party boats - all totally illegal. Even "docking lights" are technically illegal if you turn them on when you're under way. The Marine Patrol loves this stuff because they're great revenue generators.

Just tell the water sheriff, you were too drunk to notice they were on and maybe he will just give you a warning.
