I thinking about buying a 2012 Vicious 18' tunnel with a 2.4 bridgeport but don't know anything about them. :nonod: Are they good boats, bad boats, any known problems, etc, Any info would be helpful.

Two members on here built them: Vicious and Tague. You might be able to PM them with questions.

Looks like it needs a new gear case http://www.boattrader.com/listing/2012-VICIOUS-Tunnel-Hull-18-102773985

Never seen one in person but have watched Tague build one from the bottom up and it looked like quality. Vacuum bagged/infusioned.

from what I've read of his work it is state of the art, actually had a consultant from Europe teach him the process. Vacume infusion. never herd anything negative about his work. fun out

Yea, it says it has a CLE gear case but it doesn't look like a CLE to me. Also the skeg is broken

This is the one with the crazy number of steps in the sponsons right? I kind of wondered how they turned.

I worked on it numerous times. The boat was solid and in great shape. Very well built. Unless it was abused badly since Mark owned it. Ran 101-103 very easily. I put a pcu and fixed some other issues with the motor.... and a new factory cowl on it:rolleyes:. The one that was on it fell apart on me during testing. so unless someone pimped it it was the last one Mercury had in stock at that time. It had a coned 200 case, it says they replaced it with a cle 1/17. You do have to pay attention turning it sharp (quick 180's) it will spin around on itself kinda like a early stv with the sprint bottom. Probably how the skeg was broke. Other than that it handles awesome. It will need the forward cowl pan mounts or the cowl will break again......and the shifter sucks ass and tends to fall apart too. :)

Thanks for the info, very helpful. I used to have a flat bottom jet boat that would spin on itself too, not a fun time when it does it.:nonod:
Thanks again.

I'm pretty sure the bottom is 1 inch core on that one. It is very very very stiff. The evening the cowl broke there was a sharp 8-10 inch chop on the bay, it wasn't rough, just a even chop and I was setting the top end on the pcu and at 100 the vibes through the boat would blur my vision, that's how stiff it is. I slowed down and turned around and the only thing left of the cowl were the pieces that go into the latches. I still have them somewhere. So it cost me 1300 dollars to make 300 dollars lol.

Capt. isn't the cap light enough that you can't kneel or climb on the sides? I thought that's what Marc's Dad told me.
