Pretty Nice Run Beautifullll!!! Area. Most Of The Group Puts In @ Either Gilberts Or The Caribean (Wrong Spelling) Club And Run South To Islamorada Sand Bar. Several Of Us Stay In Islamorada And Meet Up With Them There. If You Don't Mind Running In Salt Water, It's Probably As Nice A Run As There Is! I'll Caution You Though, In May, It's HOT! In The Keys!!

Hi Mitch. Actually There Were A Couple Of Us That Had Conflicts The Following Week So, That's The Reason For The Date Change. Last Year Mothers Day Fell What Would Be On The Same Date As This Years Deal And The Weather Was Better... Less Wind... And For Us With Smaller Boats, It Helped! Mothers Day Is That Sunday. Most Of Us Hit The Sand Bar On Friday And Saturday And Head Home On Sunday. Sorry If Those Dates Don't Work With Your Schedule. I'll Try And Move Them Back Next Year. Hope You Can Make It. Thanks! I think so but a lot of other stuff going on. We close on a lot behind our house where we are putting in a big garage and eventually building another house and Ive been kind of tied up with that. I have the deck almost ready for new nonskid just a little hand sanding in the corners to finish.
Rubrail is on, motor mounted, etc. Nonskid then rig and ride.

If the weathers nice might run up the ocean side after the sandbar on Saturday and stop at a reef or two. Maybe even Sunday morning.

Davea great spot is just about a mile from the sandbar at islamarada (formally known as Holiday Isle, best my memory serves, now the Postcard Inn). leave the sandbar out the channel to the bouy, make a left turn and head NE and your there in mins. plenty of anchor balls floating to tie to and plenty deep. tons of fish that will come up to the boat, depending on conditions the viz varies, but very easy place to find, again depending on conditions, low freeboard boats may need to use caution, we took the Action there and had no problems, no current problems to deal with as your in open water. check out this vid, google it as there are lots of sites describing the reef. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Pej8uMxUAo fun out :cool:

Either on friday or saturday morning i will take whomever desires to several amazing reefs for snorkeling. 5-20 feet. The visibility and conditions are always better the earlier you go.

TWO More Weeks!! Damn I am buried in work and have a lot to do yet on the boat. Im stuck because the console is away at the upholstery shop and thats what I need to move forward. No console = no electrical rigging, control rigging, Steering, seat placement. etc.

I'll be running up from Marathon if the weather's nice on Sat or sun. Been years since I been that far north by boat. Head's up make sure your safety gears in order. Last time I was there on a holiday weekend I counted 9 different branches of law enforcement around that sandbar.

I have a room reserved at the Pelican Cottages in Key Largo and its not looking like we will make it. Bayside with its own boat ramp and docks. A bunch of the stuff I ordered to finish the boat is on back order or some crap and Im being told it wont arrive until May 18th now. I dont even have the console here now because its at the upholstery shop and he hasnt even looked at it yet.
That and closing on the lot behind us (were buying to buld on) is tentative for the Thursday we were supposed to arrive down there.
