mercury xr6 poppet valve and thermostat replace?

Can someone tell me if these are parts that need to be replaced on some kind of maintance cycle? My motor is an 05 and I doubt they have ever been preplaced before but I'm not having any trouble out of them at this time.

Not generally a maintenance thing.

If you have a water temp & pressure gauge, monitoring them will give you a heads up if/when you have an issue. Then you can look for why. ( Thermostat-Pump-poppet, etc )
Fresh water motors don't usually have poppet problems...sometimes the diaphragm gets a pin hole and leaks, evident by water leaking out the vent hole in the poppet cover.

Thanks No temp gauge but I do have a water pressure. I'll keep an eye on that.
