..you would never understand, and ya missed those great times! I almost bought a Dodge A100 here stock with a dream do a "Little Red" And my dad (made me go in the back to clean that massive rear glass) had same Barracuda but had that front engine, as the A100 I almost bought. Love and miss those days!

My father told me stories of his time back in the late 50's, early 60's when he was building and racing Pontiacs in central Ohio. I have vague memories of 2 of those cars, one was a '61 Pontiac convertible, the other a '66 GTO. Up until his passing he had a shelf of trophies from Dragway 42 in West Salem, Ohio. Coincidentally most of those trophies were won with a young upstart behind the wheel from Mansfield, Bill Shrewberry who went on to design, build and race the "Hemi Under Glass" later raced by Bob Riggle. He also developed the Little Red Wagon seen in that picture above. Regardless who eventually piloted the cars, Bill was creator and inspiration for the wheelie cars of that era. I don't remember meeting him, I was only 3 years old when he drove for my father, but my dad had some pretty interesting stories about his days with "Wild Bill".

I remember seeing the Little Red Wagon run at the strip back when I was young, very cool vehicle. I can't remember 100% but I think it was performing by itself.

Never seen them race each other either, just exhibition runs. Middle late 60's and the 70's. Bill Maverick drove the "Red". We NEVER missed Memorial day and Labor day "Jets, Wheelstanders, and Nitro| at "Broadway Bob's.."Great Lakes Dragway. Park, kids wagons with coolers beer in, and action started at dusk. Lotta fun! The "good ol days"! :thumbsup:
