Noli,
Pics do not look like that they are from Skater Factory? Who's boat is this and where is it located?

I believe Perf Boat Center is redoing it or completing it?

You're good DR!

That is a new boat. It was sold with just the motors hanging off the back all white. No rigging.
I heard they had two on order. This is the first one of two.
I will ask Brett Miller if he knows who's boat it is or a stock boat to sell.

That 318 isn't at Skater - I didn't know Pete sold one un-rigged. Noli, you never cease to amaze me with where you come up with everything you post! :)

I think that boat is for Jimmy Liautaud the owner of Jimmy Johns. He has new DW coming as well-If I had his resources, I would have few new ones being built for sure-he is the real deal.

Yes he is. We have done 2 Intrepids for him. He already has a 308 flat deck with 300x motors that was done about 6yrs ago or so. He has a 388 as well. Bob sold him a few new 280 ROS that he had for a MTR or something a while back.
I am sure it will be really nice when it is done.
I think this whole O/B thing really has Pete excited. He always loved them more so than the big boats.

He has told me several times that when he came out with the 24 was his highlight "we kicked their ass"-Pete is a true racer at the core.

Yea' a friend of mine is in the young executives club with him in central Illinois and the numbers are absolutely staggering. He spends over 10 million a year on the Nascar program and that is like lunch money to a normal guy. I love seeing self made guys live right (that's the way it should be).

Also not to mention he has a 80' sport fish and also a 150'+ Feadship that are probably worth over 20 million dollars.

Good looking boat, but it's not going to set any speed records with all the rigging weight they're putting in it. Unless Jimmy paid Mercury an undisclosed sum to put some more boost to the motors. Lol

Rayzor, is your 30 going to have hand or foot throttle?

Foot throttle - we are modifying an N-Control split foot throttle to work with the DTS system of the 400Rs. Mercury sells a single foot throttle to work with the DTS, but not a split foot throttle for twins - so we're having to make our own!

I have two 70 Lb Oddessy batteries mounted in the bottom of each sponson just in front of the dash bulkhead. I also have my amps and subs mounted in the dash bulkhead. Bow is lower and it handles the rough very well. Mine is a 308 not 318

Ron set me up with dual Mercury Vessel View 7's and a Garmin 7610 GPS Map. We used the Garmin 300 black box receiver paired to two JL Audio amps and JL Audio subs and Speakers. The switching for the boat is CZone digital switching. Everything comunicates flawlessly via NEMA 2000. I can control all components and customize engine and Vessel displays. Additionally with the Garmin 7610 WIFI I can remotely control all functions with my iPhone and iPad. Using the Garmin Bluecharts App I can download maps routes and live weather to the 7610. We set up a remote FOB to turn the batteries on and off as well as control the stereo, interior and underwater lighting. With the forward battery placement improved the CG which is more forward and beneficial in rough water handling. I'm not the fastest 308 but we know how to have fun. So far I've seen 113 with 33" props 60 gallons of fuel and two people 85 degrees. It runs 111 loaded with fuel people and 32's. We are still dialing her in.

For the rougher water that you guys typically run in, the extra weight and forward CG is a good thing. Living on the Delta waterways, I'd say my running is about 70% smooth (river), 30% rough (bay/ocean) - so I tend to favor keeping my rigs as light as possible. I still like them balanced well, but as light as possible. I already plan on just running with full tanks when I'm out in the bigger water. Having an extra 1,000 #s of fuel under the cockpit floor will make a big difference on an outboard setup.

Rayzor

The one out of Performance Center ran 117 with junk props - Merc Max5s? Sounds like this one will get 120+ as well, once the owner spends some money on a good set of cleavers. I think we're seeing now that the 318s are going to be an honest 120-125mph setup when dialed-in with 400Rs. What a difference from the 100-105 that the 308s ran with 300XSs.
