I have a fresh stock rebuild on a 1986 Mercury 2.0 liter 2 stroke V-6 150Hp engine. It is still breaking in at 25:1 ratio at the moment. Is mystic 2 stroke all in one synthetic blend with ethanol treatment and cleaner added a good choice? Or should I stick
with the quicksilver synthetic oil and just add some ethanol treatment that stabil sells by the quart with what I'm using at the moment? After break in I will be mixing 40:1 . I fish a lot of bass tournaments and will be running it hard. The reason I ask is ethanol is all we have in my area unless I drive 40 miles out of the way. I just wondered. I use to run it 5800 to 6000 rpms even tho every one has said 5500 rpms is what I should be running it. The only reason I had it rebuilt was it was time to fresh in it up. It ran fine just started to lose the pep and compression was even on all cylinders just starting to get low. last rebuild was 18 years ago. I have fished out of this ranger bass boat for 21 years and counting and still looks great. Thanks

Run the stuff and report back. We need more test's posted here. Do an opinion poll.....Blow up within 50 hrs, or run another 18 yrs......

It's too bad there isn't any real test done to compare all the oil options. Maybe we over think it? In my early teens I ran a little 1980's OMC 25hp everyday very hard for years while using some really cheap Quaker state multi purpose oil without a problem.

My neighbor is using it in a 135 opti, not sure if he should but he thinks he's using more than usual.

I will just stick with the quicksilver. A few guys I fish with use it. But they only use it cause of bill dance lol. I saw it at bass pro shops and I just wondered some thoughts about it .I will stick with what I know is good for me

Mystic is a Citgo product according to this https://www.nmma.org/certification/oil/tc-w3

If it is TC-W3 rated, yes.

why not just use it , your running it in and obviously putting in tons of oil anyway at the time.
the spec sheet for it is a lot more detailed than the mercury stuff.
if its same price stick to what you know.

I would use it 100% as its tcw3

I have a jug of it here and do run it in my V-Max sled. The sled turns more rpms the my outboard but the cylinders are only 3/4 the size of the outboard so maybe less strain, again I have no idea The thing I am puzzled by is it says for both marine and snowmobile applications. That may be a good thing I don't know, I know snowmobile oil can get waxy in extreme cold conditions and just assumed marine 2 stoke could maybe have that flow problem if used in a sled. It is well priced for being sold in Canada.

I run sled oil in my boats at the beginning of the season, and boat oil in my sleds at the start of winter. Just to use it up so its not sitting around for a couple of months.
