These are dirt common motors, aren't they?
Next season, I'm going through the carbs and fuel pump with new gaskets and diaphragms, check the bleed hoses and check valves, put in the Chris Carson reeds I bought. Common stuff we should all do, right?
So I go to one of the common online parts sources with the diagrams and all, like boats.net, and I find:
1) There are no carb kits listed
2) There are no fuel pump kits listed
3) The choke plate gasket that mates the choke plate to the carbs is obsolete. What do you do, keep reusing the old one?
4) Many common service items and even gaskets are "obsolete" and not available, including bleed system check valves, (which I hear do go bad), and carburetor floats and cover gaskets
This is weird. These common service items are things that are commonly available even for my '75 v4 crossflow 'rude.
So, what do you guys do for fuel pump and carb kits? Buy each piece individually and then cut your own out of paper gasket material for the ones that are "obsolete"?
What do you do if one of your bleed hose check valves is bad and it's "obsolete"?
