Hi fellow scream-n-flyer's!!! Hope everyone is having a great summer. I am considering making my first trip to the Hot Boat weekend and I am looking for some advice on where to launch and where to go. I am not going to get drunk and party all day, I want to come and meet fellow brothers and sisters from the scream-n-fly community and maybe put some faces with names. I love the go fast outboard powered boats and hopefully can find someone willing to give me my first 100 mph ride (70 mph is the fastest I have experienced). i just have a 1986 19' 6" ProCraft fish and ski with a mildly modded Pro Max 225 so I can't run with you (I top out at 60 mph) but I would love to come and hang for the day and talk boats. I hear the place to go is the sandbar up toward Roger's dam. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The tunnel boats with big bad Merc's are my favorite. Anyone willing to give me a ride?

Get off US131 at the M20 exit, head west to the bridge. On the north is a county park,on the south is a private marina. That will put ya about half way between the party crowd, and the hot rods on the sand bar.

Thanks outasite. Does that launch get full quickly on that weekend? Hope to see you there.

EVERYTHING, gets full quickly that weekend. If coming to the sand bar, bring a twist in anchor post. Its fills up quickly.Parking up there is at a premium!
Get to the sandbar before 10:30 am if you want a parking spot. Stay on the outside of the bends in the river to avoid any shallows or stumps.

Chad are going up to take pictures? Coldwater never happened this year from my point-you have been my visual for past few years with all of the the pictures that you post. Just letting you know that it was and is appreciated.

Thanks pyro. I was on the river last Saturday and got the "lay of the land" so to speak from a guy who has lived on the river for 30 years. I am no expert but he said the same thing you reiterated. I know to stay away from the inside turns and watch for logs and sticks. Are you planning an being there? Would love to meet in person. We have chatted a few times and you have given me some helpful advice. I would love to see your Hydrostream.
Thanks guys for all the help. and advice. Hopefully we will have good weather. I have seen pics of the party down by Consumer's beach and I can see why the sandbar is a more desirable place. Consumer's looks like fun if you just want to park and party. I want to see some racing.

Too many gold chains and tank tops to be racing anymore on hot boat weekend at the sand bar. Its a good time as long as you don't expect too much in the way of fast boats being able to stretch it out- way too much traffic. I go to see the people I don't usually get to see and have one last hoorah for the summer. You'll have a good time im sure, a lot of $$$$ up there that weekend.

Good luck parking on the backside of the sandbar. It's getting closed in at the entrance by sand and is pretty narrow. Might still be able to walk a STV or other small boats in. Certainly nothing bigger like in the past. Bring your shovel LOL!!!!
