What to do with an optimax 225 that has just gone under fresh water (Mississippi-dirty but no salt)? Pulled it out and flushed--running but not good!

The last motor I put under , I pulled the plugs and drained to avoid any hydro-lock, then I pulled and blew out with compressed air all electrical connections, after that I started and fogged the crap out of it as if it was going to hibernate for 20 yrs.
In the case of your opti, I would do the samw and pay close attention to ridding any water that entered the compressor .
